Our Story
Cheyenne was born with Short Gut Syndrome.
Short Gut Syndrome (also called Short Bowel Syndrome) is a rare condition where a child’s body does not have enough small intestine to absorb the nutrients it needs. For many families, that means feeding tubes, IV nutrition, surgeries, and long stretches inside hospital walls.
That was our story.
Before she was six months old, we had already faced more than most families do in a lifetime. We learned medical terms we never wanted to know. We counted ounces. We watched monitors. We prayed through the night.
And we watched God carry us.
This book is not a marketing example. It is written in honor of my daughter’s strength and in testimony to God’s goodness in our hardest season.
Wonderfully Made was born from that journey — so that other parents walking hospital halls can place a story in their child’s hands that speaks courage, identity, and truth.
No diagnosis defines a child. And every child is fearfully and wonderfully made.
How Custom Books Work
You tell me your child’s name, diagnosis, and story. I’ll write a gentle, kid-friendly Christian story that helps them understand their journey.
You can also choose to include an optional Dedication Page and Prayer Page.
Price: $30 per custom book.
Dedication Example
For Cheyenne Suzette Grimes, My brave girl. It was the greatest honor of my life to stand beside you while you fought your way into strength. I watched you endure more before six months old than most do in a lifetime. I watched you learn to walk with a pole beside you. I watched you smile through scars. And I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Every surgery. Every long night. Every prayer whispered over your hospital bed. Because you are worth everything. God has been so good to us. Love, Mom
Prayer Page Example
Lord, Thank You for children who fight with quiet courage. Thank You for doctors, nurses, and miracles we cannot see. For every parent reading this who is walking hospital halls, give them strength. For every child with tubes, scars, or a body that works differently, cover them in peace. Help them trust You. Help them be still and know that You are God. Remind them they are fearfully and wonderfully made. Give them courage for today and hope for tomorrow. Amen.
